Gallery: The Paper Kites, Singapore

A quiet warmth filled the Esplanade Concert Hall last night as Australian indie-folk band The Paper Kites performed in Singapore for the first time.
The evening began with just two members on stage, before a third quietly joined them a few songs later. Eventually, the rest of the band appeared, gradually building the sound and atmosphere. It was an interesting way to begin the night — almost like being gently invited their world.
For the first couple of songs, the members stood side by side, their voices blending together in soft harmony before eventually dispersing back to their individual instruments across the stage. Between lighthearted exchanges with the crowd and the band’s warm, nostalgic sound, the night unfolded into a calm and intimate performance that felt perfectly at home in the concert hall.
