The night at Foo Chow Building unfolded a little differently than most concerts in Singapore—with an emcee guiding the crowd and a supporting act to set the tone.

Taking the stage first was Quin, joined by her finger-style guitarist Ashlyn. With her warm, silky voice, she drew the crowd into an intimate headspace, gently setting the tone for Hollow Coves’ arrival. They faced a couple of minor technical issues, but the crowd never wavered. The room carried this quiet sense of encouragement, you couldn’t hear it, but you could feel it— a reminder that this was a safe space for both artists and audiences alike, which perfectly set the mood for the evening.

Now, you would think Hollow Coves would come right after the opener, but the organizers had something different in mind. Instead, the crowd was treated to a little playful interactive game— guess the song, win a prize! And the real jackpot: Hollow Coves sold out merch, signed! This definitely got the crowd buzzing and ready for what was to come that evening.

And just like that, Ryan Henderson and Matt Carins were on stage supported by their bassist and drummer. They kicked things off with ‘The Woods’, instantly captivating the room and weaving the crowd into their warm, dreamy sound and blissful harmonies. The atmosphere shifted —suddenly intimate, and almost sacred as fans began singing—all completely present in the moment.

Their stage set-up was pretty stripped back, and unpretentious. Just these talented guys, their instruments— the lemon shaker! — and honestly, a whole lot of vibes! The entire evening flowed effortlessly, each song carrying its own weight, resonating differently with the crowd.

Hollow Coves’ setlist took the crowd on a journey through both fan favorites and newer tracks. There were ones that gently tugged at your heartstrings, and felt like a warm blanket, and others that made you want to dance and forget your surroundings altogether.

Upbeat tracks like ‘Harder to Fake it’, and ‘Photographs’, brought the energy. Chris, their bassist, definitely brought his game during the dance-worthy songs, rocking grooves that had everyone moving! The mellow, slower songs like ‘On the Road’ and ‘Coastline’, were a beautiful contrast.

The cheeky Aussie lads left the stage only to playfully return when fans shouted for an encore— you really can’t spell cheeky without Australian!

By the end of the night, the fans were buzzing and the room lingered with excitement and content! Hollow Coves proved that sometimes all it really takes is some heartfelt lyrics, genuine chemistry on stage to create a truly unforgettable first show in Singapore. It was a night that felt like a safe space, full of connection and charm — and heartfelt melodies that will echo on. Debut notes that struck a chord too good for goodbye!
